Hello,
Your predicted grades and GCSEs are good, well done on that.
Imperial have said that they will: rule out any candidates with scores in individual sections below a certain score, then be ranking all their applicants.
Most are speculating that you will need 600 minimum in each section (no data for this, people have extrapolated based on their standards for BMAT results).
Then if going by the maths, Imperial usually gets 3000 applicants, and interview 1000. To be in the top third, you'd need a 9th decile score minimum (if you account for imperial being a highly competitive university and try and approximate the UCAT equivalents of the BMAT scores needed). Most people place the cut off even higher at 2950+ for non-contextual applicants. Unfortunately, your score falls short of that. If you are a contextual applicant, you would be safe for an interview with an 8th decile score (2750 and above).

There's nothing stopping you from applying, but keep in mind that it is very likely you will not get an interview.

I have friends who have, yes, but they aren't on TSR.

I mean, it would be a very close thing, there is no problem with having Imperial as one of your aspirational choices, just ensure you have applied to other unis where you're very very likely to get an interview (you must have loads of choices with 2900 anyways).

Do you think I should apply with 2800 b1 as it being my aspirational

It depends on how much you want it and your attitude to risk, if you did please make sure you have some safe options.

I’ve emailed imperial multiple times abt GCSEs and they’ve always said that they don’t even look at gcses past min requirement and they don’t have any influence on the decision. So you’d 8s and 9s won’t be of much use there. Your predicted grades are good ; they also state that they don’t look at predicted grades past the min requirement (which you already meet). Your UCAT unfortunately is too low for Imperial estimating the average UCAT will probably be around 3000. So that places you in a huge disadvantage, but it depends - are you contextual? If so then there is a chance.

Does anyone know if there is a possibility that the minimum score required per UCAT section is more than 600?
