Dia’s Year 11 2024-2025 💎

Hi I’m Diamond
I’m going to use this post to track all the revision I’ve done in a day
Hopefully this will make me feel more accountable for missed revision sessions and for motivation to do more (since it’s gcse year lol)
Anyways here’s my current grades from my year 10 mocks and some context behind what I hope to get for GCSEs:

Maths-8(was a bit sad about this as it’s usually my strongest subject and I really need a 9 in this subject)

Further maths-?(I didn’t do mocks on this last year, our school forced us to do this I don’t know if I can pull off a 7/8/9 though lessons are becoming challenging)

English language-8(was actually happy about this, I was never strong in English I wouldn’t mind an 8 in the real thing but hopefully I could pull off a 9!)

English literature-7(1 mark of an 8!! again really happy about this and I feel confident I could get an 8/9 by our next set of mocks)

Physics-9( I lowkey love physics and I revised so much for it in year 10 so hopefully I can keep it up)

Chemistry-9(same as physics tbh I’m also considering taking it for a level so hopefully I can stay consistent)

Biology-9(like physics I revised loads for this and possibly considering taking it for a level, hopefully I can get a 9 in the real thing)

Computer science-8(never really liked this subject programming part willl probs kill me off but hopefully a 9)

Latin-9(I don’t really know how but this doesn’t include literature just language which I find easy but literature is so hard I’m just hoping for 7+ in the real thing)

Geography-9(hopefully a 9 in the real thing I love geography and I don’t find it to hard)

Thanks for reading!

Today I did
Maths revision(I looked at some hard probability questions they were quite difficult will probs have to go over them again-did this in the morning cause I accidentally woke up too early😭)

Chemistry revision(went over topic 10 on the bus with the flashcards I made)

Biology topic 2(went over topic 2 also in the bus-way home from school with the flashcards I made)

English literature (made a mind map on my last duchess by watching an analysis video, went over some Inspector calls Flashcards I made and blurted them out using a whiteboard-only did like 2😭)

Physics
(made online flashcards on what I learnt in the past few lessons cause we have a test soon+ mocks😭 went over a practical I was unsure about-I plan to do some Isaac physics soon also)

Note:I go over most of my flsshcards on the bus to save time because my commute to school is usually over an hour (about 3 hours there and back) so it saves time as I usually don’t get home from school till around 5. Therefore I can do more important revision after such as practice questions on pmt.

Anyways thank for reading !

Maybe ask for this to be moved to GYG?
Good luck with year 11! Im in year 12 and got 9999998886A for my GCSEs so would be happy to answer questions if you have them (i did the same core subjects and further maths). Also if you want to have a look at My gyg feel free so you can maybe get ideas on how to get started 🙂

Thank you so much. Woah your results are amazing well done I literally pray my grades look like yours! Btw do you have any tips for further maths im not too sure if i should revise for it more (I recently just found out id be sitting the exam) or when i should start focusing on it cause it feels like i dont have enough time to do so whilst going over 10 other subjects.😅

Thanks
With further maths I'd suggest finding a youtuber who has tutorial lesson videos for all the content. What exam board are you? I know first class maths does aqa and I did ocr so have a load of recommendations if you do too. Basically just watch a video, search up a worksheet and then if you make mistakes do more of that type of question until you've got it. I totally get that it's a lot to balance, but just treat it like any other subject. Might help if you make a bit of a revision timetable to remind yourself to do it though.

Yeah aqa is easier than ocr i think because its level 2 (gcse equivalent) whereas ocr fsmq is level 3 (covers a lot of year 12 maths content). Best of luck with it 🙂

What I did today
Maths revision in the morning-some more probability and trigonmetry
great!!

Chemistry topic 2 bonding flashcards(just did this on the way to school)

Biology topic 7 ecology(I had to go over this topic by doing flashcards on the bus as it was on my revision timetable for the day however it makes me depressed every time I go over ecology as two weeks ago I had a topic test on this and I fumbled really badly even though I revised so much - I haven’t gotten my results yet but I made so many mistakes and deffo dropped below my target grade oh well I guess we learn from them🙁😭!!)

Less productive than yesterday but it’s a Friday and I caught the flu😔 I planned to do a maths past paper after school but I felt too tired, I’ll make it up tmr though!!(probably not)

Days till mocks: 44

What I did today:
Not that much I usually consider Saturday as my rest day so I did one maths past paper and marked it
I got a 9!!!! 😄 But I was literally on the grade boundary (67/80) for the 2022 papers.
I now know I need to work on probability and the last question stumped me😭
Anyways tomorrow I plan on doing MUCH more 😅

Well done 🙂 Great job on the maths paper! Have you looked up the solution for the last question? If it wasn’t a show that question already what i find helpful is to get the answer and then answer the question as a show that question so i have to get from the question to the correct answer!

What I did today:
Went the questions I lost marks in my maths practice test yesterday , for the question I didn’t understand I watched a walkthrough(the probability one🙁)
Maths Sparx hwk(help why is it so much)
English revision - I finished memorising Gerald quotes + analysis and created some thesis statements for him, I plan to print it soon. I also did English hwk where I had to write two paragraphs on Romeo and Juliet💀
Rs revision
I made flashcards on the last few lessons and created a quote sheet for paper 1
Physics
Went over some waves anki flashcards and watched a cognito video on the next lesson(I like studying ahead in science I find that it helps)
Chemistry
Did some pmt questions on chemical analysis

What I couldn’t do today:
Geography(I wanted to make some geography flashcards on natural hazards but I had already revised for 6 hrs straight and figured I needed a break I might do it tomorrow)

Anyways that’s it!!

Wow that’s an amazing amount of work 🙂 You should be super proud of yourself! Are you doing anything nice to relax this evening or later in the week? Id have to cos that much work in one day looks exhausting!
