After University

I am planning to study Politics/Politics and International Relations but I am a little bit anxious about what jobs are available after you graduate uni and if the jobs is worth it?
Hi there Jacob there are quite a few jobs out there that look favourably on a political/social sciences degree, I've attached the link to more information about the jobs that you can potentially go into https://www.prospects.ac.uk/careers-advice/what-can-i-do-with-my-degree/international-relations you can also look into internships/ volunteering to try to enhance your CV.

I hope this helps

Hey Jacob,

Please don't be worried, there are a lot of students in the same boat as you but just keep in mind that your degree will give you transferrable skills that will help you get a job.

Have a look at this Prospects page for jobs you can do with an International Relations degree: https://www.prospects.ac.uk/careers-advice/what-can-i-do-with-my-degree/international-relations.

And what you can do with a Politics degree: https://www.prospects.ac.uk/careers-advice/what-can-i-do-with-my-degree/politics.

I would recommend contacting students who have studied BA Politics and International Relations. Most universities will have a chat system where you can speak directly with students who study the course you are interested in. They will be able to give you better insight into your options.

At SOAS, we use UniBuddies (https://www.soas.ac.uk/study/chat-students-and-staff). If you have a look at the students section there is a 3rd year student who studies the course you are interested in (Toe).

I hope this helps.

Most graduate employment schemes don't require specific degree subjects.
