predicted grades for UCAS

Ive been predicted bbc but i need abb to study at soas IR and politics, my school said they won’t change our predicted, due to complaints because my school last year gave out too many a* and less than 20 people achieved an a*/a, should I apply for first year and take a gamble or do foundation year? I know because I have not achieved the required grades I’m most likely not gonna get offered a place but I also heard that IR at SOAS is not as competitive.

Go for it!
It's absolutely possible to achieve ABB with predicted BBC. Try your bests to demonstrate your destiny in the subject and determination in achieving better A levels. You lose nothing even if they're not giving you any offer, you could still apply through clearing.
Most important is you work your hardest to show your potential and capabilities. The is always way ahead.
All the Bests
I don't think the issue is about how possible the grades are to achieve but if they will offer a place at all.

If you wanted to just take a gamble but happy to go elsewhere, you could try putting it down and seeing, but the grade gap is not just a near miss. so it is a gamble.
If you wanted to secure your place there, then apply for the foundation place.
You could ring and ask if they would consider pushing someone onto the degree start if they end up getting the higher grades in the exams.
I think that is the way to cover all possibilities

Hi,

I would recommend still applying for SOAS, even with your lower predicted grades, if you are unsuccessful they may give you an offer for foundation year instead.

If you are unsuccessful on the basis of your predicted grades but then achieve better with your actual results, a popular option is to apply through clearing, in which there's always at least a few spaces open for IR via clearing each year
