guys i reslly want to do medicine but I didn’t get great GCSEs as i didnt want to do medicine back then but it’s rlly making me question everything as my teachers are telling me to just forget about medicine even though I really want to do it now and my family is supportive and motivating me to.. but then my teachers are really unsupportive .
my GCSE grades:
987766555
9 in spanish
8-7 in combined science
7 in maths
6 in english language
6 in religious studies
5 in geography
5 in citizenship

If you meet certain Widening participant criteria such as being an ethnic minority, your postcode, house income, if you receive free school meals or not, you can apply for foundation years for medicine. They have generally lower entry requirements. Your GCSEs aren’t too bad just look at the entry requirements for every University.

Overall your alevels are more important than your GCSEs but because of how competitive medicine is I understand where ur coming from . If u genuinely are not confident with ur results considered retaking some of them and aim for a higher grade .
