Work Experience for Universities??

I have just started year 12, my first year of A Levels, and am trying to organise some work expereince. I am aiming to do a business, finance, economics or mathematics course at university. The Unis that I am trying to apply for are UCL, KCL, LSE and Imperial. Should the work experience that I do be related to finance and business and stuff, or could it be any type of work experience?

You don't need work experience to apply for those courses, but of course it may be useful.

Any decent work experience should be good in all fairness, even if it's not directly related to your degree.
As above - these are academic degrees. Unis will look for relevant extra reading and your interest in relevant academic topics, not that you have spent a week in an office, Do the w/exp if you want to, its interesting to see different workplaces, but it wont help you get into Uni.

I would think it would be useful to get some experience in the type of job you think you would like to do.You might hate it!Better to find out now.

As said above, your personal statement is above all academic. A work experience can make an amazing paragraph for it if you use it to show the skills it brought you that you would need as a student. So if your work experience will improve your research and communications skills, foster your perseverance and ability to work long hours, or inspire you to do further academic reading—then it is very much worth it.
