Hey there, thanks for posting a question in the Medicine forum.

The Medicine forum gets a high volume of questions being posted, and some of these are already answered by the resources and Megathreads that members of the community and volunteers have created. This is an automatic post which is designed to highlight these resources. Below is a list of threads and articles that could answer your question (you should be looking in the original post of the megathreads). If one of the below threads is a more relevant place to ask your question, please post a reply in that thread to ask your question. If your query is answered by one of the Megathreads or articles linked below, and you would like us to close this thread for you, please reply to this thread with just the words "thank you". A member of our team will then get it locked.

hey, whats everyone applying with??
Hi everyone! 👋

I'm a current Plymouth student and, although I don't study medicine, I can answer any general questions about the university, facilities, campus, or city, so feel free to ask away if you have any queries!

Best of luck! 🙂

Are first years guaranteed accommodation?

Hi, here's the up-to-date current information on this from our website! 🙂

"We guarantee a place in halls (either University-managed or with an accredited private provider) to all new undergraduate students who make Plymouth their firm first choice, apply by 7 July 2025 and are eligible under our terms and conditions.

Please note: to make an application for a place in halls, the University of Plymouth must be your first choice University. Once the Accommodation Portal opens, you will be sent an email inviting you to make an account and make your booking!"

Best of luck and if you have any more questions, feel free to reach out!

As long as none are below this minimum entry requirements it’s still good. Do you know how they shortlist for interviews?

They don’t really specify on the website it only says shortlisting is based on academic and non academic criteria

Also I’m pretty sure it’s the first time where they’re using the UCAT for selection for the foundation year
