is anyone here a gap year applicant and if so what are your achieved grades?

I am!! I’m thinking of maybe applying and my achieved grades are A*AA (A* in bio and A in chem and psych)

Do I have a chance with these stats
GCSEs:7766666555
Predicted: AAA
Ucat: 2340 b3
Only contextual bit is that i live in a low participation area(quintile2)

Nice, you could apply to standered one tbh with ur achieved grades. What did u get for ur ucat if u don’t mind revealing because if u dod well in tht too u deffo have a good chance

If you meet the min requirements you have a chance but ur ucat is a bit low but ppl in the past have received an offer with lower. Maybe you could put it as aspirational or apply to mainly foundation years as ur more likely to get into those with ur stats and some don’t even look at ucat.

Unfortunately for my UCAT I only got 2700 Band 3. It’s well known that Kings wants a UCAT score of 2900+ and because my SJT is low too i don’t think I have a good chance for their standard offer which is why I’m applying for the foundation year programme in the first place. I’m stuck between their foundation year programme and St George’s so…

what others can i look at? All the other foundation courses I've looked at need you to meet contextual criteria (low income household, free school meals etc.) and i don't meet any of those criteria.

Makes sense, looks like u have a fair shot at sgul and kings emdp tbh. But sgul apparently don’t take my word for it use sgt I think after or before interviews so there’s thts unless ur do rlly well at interviews. And kings apperenlty after interviews only use interveiw score for offers so it rlly kinda depends on how well u think you’ll perform at interview.

Yeah that’s why I’m so conflicted and I have to decide before the 15th 😭

dont make your descion based on my opinion, but sgul if i was in your position seems slightly better in terms of a chnace with offer as its not all or nothing with interveiws like kings. but rlly either u got a good chance tbh so u could also base it how much u like the uni and stuff

If u meet min requirements u have some chance but if u achieved grades are low maybe it could be an aspirational or apply somewhere with lower requirements
