Would Leeds be considered a good safety option? I am applying to Newcastle Manchester and kings and deciding between Leeds and Sheffield for my last option so which one is safer?
My ucat is 2960 band 2
All 9s at gcse
Predicted grades A* in chemistry, A* in maths and A in biology

A*s arent really consideredin Leeds selection criteria. The most important factors are GCSE / UCAT. You have great GCSEs and a nice UCAT as well as stellar predicted grades.

So do you think it would be a safe option in terms of post interview offer rate as I would like to have a safer option for my 4th choice

I qualify for A2L, will I get an interview?
GCSEs: 98877765 L2D* (9) I have extenuating circumstances which hindered my performance during my GCSEs

Not yet. Still waiting

My mum died in 2021 (close to me and was upsetting) it disrupted my GSCES mainly and my UCAT slightly.
On my UCAS it was put down as an extenuating circumstance but should I be contextual instead?
Sorry I don’t understand the difference etc, and if so (if I missed up) do I email the uni or leave it?

So sorry to hear about your personal circumstances, wishing you a recovery to norm in due course.

Contextual at Leeds requires applicants to meet minimum two criteria. May you look through this URL to see if you qualifies for Access to Leeds

https://www.leeds.ac.uk/access-to-leeds/doc/am-i-eligible

If however you only meet one condition, unfortunately you won't be consider under contextual for home student.

Wishing you peace on the journey ahead!

Fret not, I think Leeds will invite soon, no later than mid Dec as they scheduled interview is 6th - 8th Jan, therefore they will not leave it too late.

Keep calm!
it is really tough waiting and yet concentrating on academic work and getting those grades at the same time
-hope it isn’t too much longer, but best to just keep an eye on this thread
and the A100 medicine fastest slowest offers thread
ie., to know when to check your spam mail folder if can’t see an invitation to interview in inbox once they are issued
