MSc physiotherapy termination

I have been enrolled on my 2nd year of my MSc course at St George’s for 5 weeks and this week receieved an email that I have failed a resubmission from first year, and pending any appeals I make, will have my position on the course terminated in 10 days.

I have drafted an appeal noting many stressful life events that I have endured last year, and have a meeting with my personal tutor on Monday, as well as a TBC meeting with the counselling service.

My question largely is, what sort of recourse do I have in the event of termination? I was required to enroll into 2nd year, take out SFE loans, start a group research project, and complete a 6 week placement before being notified. By the time an appeal is decided I imagine a 2nd 6 week placement, comprising 1/3rd of the academic year will have passed.

I imagine my tutor will have answers to some of this, but would appreciate hearing from anyone who has been in a similar position (being given notice of termination after having enrolled into the next year)
