Driving test terminated

I had my driving test today and in the morning i was fully prepared but as soon as i sat in the car with the examiner i got soo nervous and totally forgot what i was doing.. about 10 minutes into the test she made me pull up to the left and told me that the test was terminated because i was a 'hazard to other road users'. Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Oh dear :frown:

I haven't heard that happening before, but it can do.

It happened to my dads friend (about 20 years ago now). He had to do an emergency stop, and hit the accelerator by accident, and the same thing happened to him.

Sorry to hear about that, maybe you should take something for your nerves next time, or have some hypnotherapy? I know it's helped quite a few people.

Anyway, good luck with your driving anyway, if you want any advice feel free to ask, and I'll try to help. :hugs:

My Dad had his test terminated because the examiner lost consciousness and 2 teeth...

...he took his test before seatbelts were mandatory. The examiner said something like, 'when I tap the dashboard I'd like you to perform and emergency stop'

Dad was waiting for it and happened to see the examiner lift his clipboard.

He hit the brakes, and the examiner, who wasn't expecting it, hit the dashboard.

Dad phoned for an ambulance and then had to wait with the car for his instructor to get a lift out to him.

He got the same examiner 2nd time round and passed.

Where abouts do you live?

Drifting away from the road like.. into a hedge?

Heh, in all seriousness, "apparently" shouldn't be there. Your nerves obviously got the best of you this time so investigate trying to sort them out before your next test

Oh God that's dreadful. Are they both alright? I'm presuming they are, but I thought I'd ask. :p:

My friend had his test 3 days before mine, and he had to do an emergency stop practically as someone cut him up. Really shook him up. Got soooo paranoid it was going to happen to me on my test. :p:

And glad I could help OP.

I clipped a hedge on my test and passed (it was overhanging the road, which was thin anyway, and there was a car in the other direction, and I got a minor for it even though it was 100% unavoidable)!

Yeah, I think your only issue was nerves if your instructor thought you were ready. Just try to relax, imagine it's a normal lesson etc.

Thanks for the advice, il try it next time. did you pass first time?

Yeah, on the 4th. 'Upheld the family tradition' as my dad put it. :p: No pressure whatsoever.

I did feel really ready though, I'd only had about 30 hours of instruction, but I'd been doing that over 10 months. :p:

My examiner really put me off to start with though, tried to be polite as she was checking my eyesight and she completely blanked me, and then kept glaring at me, so I panicked a little and messed up a hill start a tiny bit. :p: And I got 3 minors for being hesitant! It was uber busy!!! :s-smilie:

Anyway, I realised I was panicking, so I consciously tried to calm down and it worked. Just try and think about how're you're feeling as well as your driving.

Are you booking your next test soon then?
