Applying for University independently, getting a private tutor to predict me grades

So that is my plan, I am retaking my A-Levels because last year I did badly, (CDD). But after a lot of tutoring sessions, my tutor believes I have the ability to achieve ABB in my A-Levels in 2025. My tutor also lives in the same area as me. If I use my tutor as a reference will this cause alarm bells for UCAS?

My tutor is confident but when looking online people say that if your tutor lives in the same area as you and predicts you drastically higher grades then UCAS will get suspicious (which isn't my intention to do).
Not their location, but an increase from CDD to ABB is a pretty big leap. The reference itself will probably get a bit more scrutiny to see if it seems plausible, but other than that, no having a private tutor predict grades isn't out of the ordinary or likely to cause issues.

Thanks for the reply, well last academic year I did lose my grandad and my auntie. It was an extremely tough time for me which has a huge impact on my studies hence my achieved grades

Do you think if I got my tutor to include this info in my reference then it will be more plausible?

Truthfully, I just don't want there to be any issues with my application

Sorry to hear that. There is a section in the reference specifically for any mitigating circumstances that affected your studies. There's definitely no harm in asking them include it.

Also, if you don't mind me asking. My tutor teaches me on the side, as his main job he works within finance. Will that affect my application at all?

Difficult to say, if there's no evidence online of him offering tutoring then might make uni's a bit more sceptical. If he looks legit, not likely to cause any issues.
