Help me choose one more uni

I live in Birmingham and am predicted A*A*A, I want to study law, however, I am not the most confident about my A in maths so would like at least one university choice that would accept me with a B. Im applying to Oxford, Manchester, Warwick and LSE. I live in quintile one, go to a severely underperforming school and would be the first in my family to go to uni. I dont completely understand contextual offers but I believe that I would be eligible. I've also done the sutton trust pathways to law. I'm trying to choose a 5th choice to pick as my insurance but I can't find any that stand out to me. I don't want to go too far from home, as in I wouldn't consider going all the way to Scotland, but I wan't to move far away enough to justify living there.
What unis would you guys reccommend to pick for my 5th choice?

Contextual offer criteria is different at each Uni - there is not 'one system' - and you really do need to check the detail of this before you apply.

In terms of an AAB choice within reasonable distance of Birmingham - Lancaster would be the obvious choice.
Hi there!

Have a look at Liverpool! It is only 1hr 45mins direct train from New Street to Liverpool Lime Street and Liverpool Hope, Liverpool John Moores and University of Liverpool all have Law courses with different UCAS point requirements.

I'd recommend going to a few open days for any of the Law courses that interest you and see what they have to offer. Going to an open day may turn a university that doesn't particularly stand out into one that you definitely want to go to.

I hope this helps😃

Hi @Xrffyuhstyhbf

Lancaster University's entry requirements for undergraduate Law is currently AAB so the maths with a B would work out, you can find more information about Law at Lancaster here Undergraduate Law - Lancaster University in addition to talking to some of our Law students! Lancaster's next open day is 12th October 2024 if you would like to come onto campus to have a look around and see if you like it or not. In terms of the contextual offers, Lancaster does a scheme (that I have personally been on) called the Lancaster Access Program (LAP) Lancaster Access Programme - Lancaster University. If you are not sure if you are eligible, just fill out the interest form Lancaster Access Programme - Application Form 2024-25 (Page 1 of 12) (office.com) and they'll let you know. I found the LAP very useful as it gave me a 3 grade drop eg from AAB to BBC so definitely a very good safety net whilst still being a top 15 uni!

Hope that helps!
