WJEC A LEVEL History Coursework

Hi! I do history and this year along with our two modules (Nazi Germany and Protest/Reform in Wales) we have to do coursework. Sadly, we weren't allowed to create the questions ourselves (idk the teacher just didn't let us). So the question we're doing is - "A vibrant and dynamic President who was committed to an American of peace and progress," how valid is this assessment of the presidency of John F Kennedy? I'm really struggling with this coursework as my history teacher who teaches this aspect of the course, hasn't really explained anything at all or even taught us much. I'm struggling the most with finding sources and just laying out the coursework in general since all we were told was "You have coursework." I do have a GCSE booklet of sources to do with Kennedy, but since it's GCSE it isn't as in depth as an A-level one could be. I would really appreciate if any students who have done history coursework could suggest good websites for history sources (esp ones to do with Kennedy) or just tips and tricks on how to complete the coursework in an effective manner. Thanks!

Hi. My son is having the same problem. Did you have any luck? I’m trying to find an example of a piece that has previously been written on any topic just to get an idea of what he should be doing.

Hi! Sadly no, I still only have the gcse sources, my teacher hasn’t been much help. i could send a link of them though, if i manage to figure out how. I’ve just ended up trying to find books that have sources but I’ve only been able to find positive sources rather than negative.

Thanks for the reply. Do you have access to JSTOR?

My son is able to use this via his school’s access so it has lots of stuff but he just finds it overwhelming to sift through all the information it presents (he has adhd so anything organisational is a real challenge for him). But if it’s finding sources that is more your issue it would probably be really useful. Hope this helps a bit and good luck.

I have exactly the same issues, no help from the teacher who only just asked us to start writing with no idea what to do and only one revision guide that doesn't help. Sources are so hard to find for our topic or are blocked behind paywalls :frown:
