Well done, that’s exciting. My son is having real problems trying to chose!

Hi all. I have a question… so some of the drama schools have application forms but are also listed on UCAS. If you apply direct via their form, does that free up a place on the UCAS form or do they somehow link up, does anyone know?

I struggled a bit too! my best advice would be choosing one where you have some sort of connection with the character and maybe sharing personal experience with what they're experiencing in some way, makes it soooo much easier, I hope that helps him!

hiya! it really depends on the school. for example, I applied for a new course with Italia Conti this year and its not even on UCAS yet so that was just directly through their application form. I would google for answers for each of the schools you want to apply to or even email their admissions

Hi @mollymaet,

I just wanted to pop on here as I can see that you are interested in studying Music Theatre with us and whilst I haven't studied on this course myself, I'd be happy to answer any questions you have about this programme or student life here on campus.

All the best with your applications. 😊

Does anyone know anything about LIPA? I'm looking at acting and their acting musical theatre course, I am not much of a dancer and don't want a dance focused course. I've not been able to visit the school yet as it's so far but have heard good things, any thoughts?

hiya! I've applied for LIPA this year. i went to their open day at the beginning of this month and loved it! the teachers, the vibe andthe facilities just seem to be top notch. I've applied for the BA acting (musical theatre) course and at the open day, there was a q+aat the end of the talk with the course lead and someone asked, "do you have to be good at dance to get in?" and the course leadbasically said that they often have strong singer/actors come and train with them and dance is their weakest of the three and afterall it is BA acting WITH musical theatre so yeah it's more acting focused than dance focused. i also know two people there, oneperson is on the songwriting and performance course and one is on the songwriting and production and both of them love it!

Hi. Musicnotes.com is good; you can even choose a different key to order it in.

Thank you, will get her to have a look. Do you know if there are standard expectations for when you bring the sheets to the auditions? Ie does it matter if the lyrics are on them or not?

The lyrics should be on the music as it helps the pianist. The sheets should be taped together with cuts clearly marked.
