Funding for first Degree but with DipHE

I am a mature student (early 30’s) looking to study a LLB either full time or part time. I have previously attained a University Diploma (the transcript indicates it was 60 credits at Level 5), but this was self-funded.

I have not received any students loans previously.

The eligibility page for SFE on the gov website is somewhat confusing and seems to insinuate that if you’ve done any higher education (even if self-funded) that you may not be eligible.

Would I be eligible for a tuition fee loan for a LLB?

Hi Sierra166,

How many years previous study do you have?

Thanks, Clare

The Diploma ran from Jan to June; so I think one year but the credits are a lot less than the equivalent of a year of a degree. It was just a 7 day workshop and independent study over three modules.

Hi there, This would be classed as 1 year previous study. Thanks, Angela

Sorry to keep replying; final one I promise! (Can you tell I want to be an advocate!)

Full tuition fee funding or only part? I.e. minus a year?
