Please help me out in finalizing course. I am interested in both the fields but need more clarity over which one will be worth doing.

Please Help !!!
Hi, this is the University of Aberdeen rep account. First of all thank you very much for your interest in studying with us! I'll try to provide some advice.

We have a careers section on the course page for our Artificial Intelligence course here: https://www.abdn.ac.uk/study/postgraduate-taught/degree-programmes/1034/artificial-intelligence/#careers
And you'll find some links here to the research on what job options might look for you. With the industry at the moment AI is certainly a field where there seems to be a lot of growth, though I will say however that things do seem to be a bit volatile at the moment and what the job landscape looks like is constantly changing. I don't work in tech personally but from my perspective it does look like there's a bit of a rapidly growing bubble and it's unclear at this stage if that's going to lead to sustainable levels of jobs or not.
If you were wanting to study something more general then Data Science for Business may be the safer option for employability as that sounds like it would have broader applications. It ultimately depends on what you feel most secure in picking for yourself, so be sure to be weighing up factors like personal interest as well as job security.

In case it's of interest, our Careers and Employability Service offer a range of services including one-on-one sessions to discuss your career paths or practice interviews, and have a range of resources both online and in person to help you with finding the right job for you after your studies. It is a service that will be available to you throughout your studies if you come to Aberdeen and for the rest of your life should you want to use it. You can find out more information on them here: https://www.abdn.ac.uk/careers/

I hope this has been helpful and if you have anything more you want to discuss, about the course or Aberdeen in general, just let me know!

Hi Mathew,

@UoA Enquiry Team I also wanted to have more clarity over scholarship. I can see on uni. website for Indian self-funded postgraduate students have 8000 pounds scholarship. But the conditional offer letter which I received in that it's not mentioned. So, Once we pay deposit after that students will get that scholarship confirmation? or How student will get official confirmation for scholarship?

Thank you,

Regards,
Arvind

Hi Arvind, thanks for getting back in contact! I'm not really able to give any solid answers on scholarships here, but if you email [email protected] with details of your application then I'll be happy to advise some more. It sounds like you're referring to the Aberdeen Global Scholarship, which effectively works as a discount for those who are eligible. It would be applied to your fee amount when you receive an unconditional offer and that would be the confirmation.

I hope that makes sense and if you have more questions on scholarships give us an email! I'd be happy to answer any more questions you might have about Aberdeen generally here though.

Hi Arvind.
I can understand the Uni's offer for Indian students. I would suggest that the best way to solve your queries is to mail the official admissions dept and get it clarified. Offcourse Mathew is assisting you but to have a solid take kindly inquire with the uni. Thank you.

Thank you for sending an email our way, and if you've not received a response yet please be assured that it will be in the hands of the best team to get you an answer. I believe this might be the health and visa reimbursement you're referring to here: https://www.abdn.ac.uk/study/international/immigration-health-surcharge-1495.php
I hope this helps and do let me know if you have any more questions!
