Chemistry A-level advice

I'm doing really bad I got an E on the Amounts of Substances test in Chemistry and my teacher suggested that I switch to applied science btec but I'm not sure I want to do it because it limits my career options but they said they were worried I was gonna continue averaging Es in Chemistry what do you think I should do?

I was considering applying to Medicine with a foundation course but idk if they would accept btec?

If you think I shouldn't switch what revision tips would give for Chemistry?
Hey are you in year 12?

I don’t know you personally, you’ve still got time to switch over in a few months you don’t have to do anything now you’ll just be a year behind which is not that deep. My best revision tip would be just do practice papers which is obvious but I did AQA and they have the same questions every year with different numbers and they always follow the same pattern so practice that, when there’s a topic you realise I always get wrong dedicate time to learn and understand that topic go in YouTube and your teacher or friends.

Considering you're only in year 12, I think predictions this early are not that accurate and a bit silly. It's ultimately up to you, but if I were you I'd stick to it as it's vital for medicine.

I did a level chemistry also and I struggled with AoS at the start also as its quite a step from gcse (especially % yield god haha). It definitely gets better as it come up in the majority of the topics in chem so it become second nature, you just need to get used to the two equations mass = mol x mr and conc = mol/vol.

To revise chemguide.uk is very good at explaining things for every a level topic, as well as free science lessons on youtube. I'd check those out and do some extra work at home before more drastic measures like buying books, tutors or dropping the subject.

If you need more help or questions I'm happy to help.
