Chemistry A-level advicw

I'm doing really bad in Chemistry I got an E on my Amounts of Substances test and my teacher recommended me to do applied science because they worried I will continue averaging Es throughout my Chemistry A-level course but I'm worried this will limit my career options and I was also considering doing Medicine with a foundation course.Any advice?

Which exam board are you with? This will affect which resources will help you most. The resources recommended above are generally applicable to all boards, but Eliot Rintoul is very much an AQA-based resource and so there are better options for other exam boards.

You are correct that a lack of an A level in chemistry will make accessing medicine much more difficult (though not impossible), so I’d stick with it unless you are finding it incredibly unenjoyable.

Hi, first of all, try not to fret too much. Year 12 Chemistry can seem very overwhelming in the first term as it is a jump from GCSE. No one in my year got an A* on their first chemistry test (and I got a C)- you are likely still figuring out the best study methods. Once you have your grades will likely improve (I got an A* in the end of year 12 mock).

I would recommend going to any chemistry clinics offered by your school to ask teachers questions- they are there to help. It's important you get a good foundation of the basics of chemistry so make sure to secure these areas first. I would recommend the youtuber Lajoy Does Chemistry if you do AQA, and the youtuber Allery Chemistry.
