Early UCAS application.

Hi- so I am predicted A*AB (psych, eng lit, bio) and i cannot get my biology predicted to an A, my teacher is rlly strict. I have christmas mocks coming up but I feel as if the mocks are gonna be really hard and with the grades I have now I want to apply early bcs I have seen that applying early is good for popular courses and getting offers early. I want to do psychology at QMUL psych and i also applied to the one abroad, City uni of london, goldsmiths and Kings even though i doubt they will accept me bcs of my 5 in gcse maths and not 6. I believe i was lucky to get predicted that A in English as I just about scraped it, and I have been getting Bs all year for bio but he hasn’t predicted me an A and says he won’t. Bcs the christmas mocks will be harder with the ur13 content, I don’t want to send my application at the same time as everyone else as it is more competitive. i wan to go to QMUL and they want AAA and at least one in psych bio etc. i have A* for psych and B for bio? do u think i should wait or try applying now?

All applications receive 'equal consideration' - it doesn't matter if you apply now or the day before the January deadline you will get exactly the same decision.

The only advantage with applying earlier is that a) you may receive some decisions before Christmas, and b) you can then stop stressing about UCAS and get on with your A levels.

Btw, if you dont meet the basic GCSE requirements at KCL, applying is a total waste of time - you will get an immediate rejection, so choose something else.

so would getting A*AB when the requirement was AAA (but i think i’m eligible for a contextual of ABB) give me a high chance of getting an offer?
Equal consideration would only apply if every single application was considered on the 26th of January. It was always a ******** statement, hence people get offers well before then. I am only nitpicking by the way.

Depends entirely on how that Uni assesses applications and how they weight A levels/GCSEs/PS etc

Which Uni recommends 'early application for popular courses' - can you give me the links to the web pages where is says this?

No Uni is allowed to suggest that you have more chance of an offer if you apply earlier - and actually QMUL are not doing this. They are just trying to encourage you not to leave it all until January.

Whenever by the deadline or earlier if you can.
