Changing courses at uni of reading

I haven’t been enjoying my history course at reading and was wondering if it is possible to transfer to primary education or won’t it be because of the interview process and stuff. If not, what should I do?

Good evening,

I'm sorry to hear you are not enjoying your history program.

You have a few options I can talk you through. First of all, I recommend your academic tutor, as they may be able to help you address this issue or why you are not enjoying your course.

Secondly, you can request to change course; however, "You do not have an automatic right to change degree programme, but if you do have the necessary entry qualifications and places are available on the programme of your choice, you may be considered, though you may also be required to take and pass the examinations for the Part of the degree on which you are currently registered, as a condition of that request to change." More information on the ins and outs of changing courses can be found here.

To find out if you are eligible to change courses, you should contact the student support centre. You can find them in the JJ Thompson building or the Edith Morley building, and they will be able to address this issue. Alterntivly, you can also use the ask a question function on RISIS, however this will take longer, and for the best outcome i recommend you get advice as soon as possible.

I hope this information helps; please let us know if you have any questions.

All the best,
Ella😀
