Any business/occupational psychologists out there?

Hello

I have a question about the above.

I’m considering studying business psychology but to be honest, I can find very little information about the job market.

The degree is BPS accredited and I’m aware Id have to study MSc and complete supervised practice.

It’s the latter that concerns me. The information out there seems vague. Has anyone done this? What sort of employment would I have to be in in order to complete the last stage?

Many thanks in advance!

I've never even heard of business psychology. Seems like repackaged HR, I would just do a HR degree.

Hi. I think BSc is called occupational psychology but MSc is called business psychology and is accredited.

More often than not a business psychology degree will result in a job related to HR. However, the difference between this degree and a general HR degree is the type of job. With a business psychology degree you are more likely to get a role that is strategic rather than operational.

For example, with a business psych degree you could get a job that involves analysing and assessing the workforce of companies, hence it is “strategic”. To give you an example of a person who studied business psychology and does this type of work, see this career story: https://www.companysights.com/talking-data/dan-russell

If you do a HR degree then you are more likely to get a job in HR operations, learning and development, compensation and benefits, or even recruitment All of which are quite “operational” at the entry to mid-level.
