application for unis - realistic?

Hey,

my predicted grades are 3 As for politics, economics and math. I have an A in EPQ. I attend a grammar school.
I want to do finance but I have adjusted it according to the uni I am applying for, due to my predicted grades.

I want to apply to:
1. LSE = accounting and finance
2. UCL = economics and business with European studies
3. queen Mary = finance
4. city = finance
5. possibly LSE economics and politics again

idk whether this is realistic - all of these want max predicted grades of 3As except for city which wants AAB I think. pls tell me if this is realistic, and I want to know how likely it is that I get into LSE accounting and finance and UCL economics and business. I am stressed that ill only get my third and fourth offer. pls let me know.

my gses are 988777766 with the 9 in math and two 6s in computing and physics.

I am not pupil premium, not in a disadvantaged area, not disabled and not a carer.

I would appreciate any response. thanks for reading!!

Why wouldn't you apply? The worst that can happen is they say no thank you.

Hey! So for LSE, there is a lot of competition and the average person there has A*A*A grades (I’m taking this from UCAS’s beta grade system). For finance, the situation might be more relax (fact check this though), bjt for economics it is definitely one of the most competitive courses and most people will apply with triple or even 4/5 A*s. I don’t know for specifically your course at UCL, but usually they are also quite rigourous.
The best thing you can do is go around the student room and find spread sheets of grades and offers that people who applied to LSE and UCL got. Both those spreadsheet also indicate the conditional offer they were given. If you look for your courses there and the conditional offer is doable for you, apply! Otherwise, you may want to consider safer choice.

Forgot to say, but I think Queen Mary is realistic for you, you should apply:smile: I got my offer from them a week ago for law with a 666 in HLs conditional offer, which could be equated to AAA. Although you’re applying to a different course, I feel like it could work out well for you!

I think LSE specifically has very strict requirement for GCSES, they want smth like a 6 or 7 for both English and maths. So there it could be an issue, but in other unis it may not be as strict. Especially since English is more important for law than maths, so if you have 9/8/7 in English, it’s very worth applying for law.
I’ll try and find right now for you a big thread here on what gcses differnet universities want:smile:

I think for QMUL your gcses are perfectly fine. Especially with contextual, you’ll definitely be considered. Just study for lnat and it should all work out:smile:

You should also consider Warwick, Durham, Bristol, Manchester, Nottingham, Newcastle, Reading and Leeds for Accounting and Finance and Economics as well.

Don't apply for two courses at the LSE?! 😧 Use your 5th choice to apply for another degree course elsewhere in the UK of course!!!
