Registering at your local GP as a student at Kingston

When moving away to uni, chances are there will be a lot of small bits to do to make sure you can make the most of life away from home! Many of which will seem boring but can be super important. Whilst it might seem a bit unessecary if you’re registered with a GP at home, one of these tasks should definitely be registering with a GP local to your studies! Here at Kingston we are lucky to have an on-site GP at the Penryhn Road campus. Fairhill Medical practice offers a number of services such as medical consultations, contraceptive advice (we also have a sexual clinic so you can stay safe), vaccinations and prescriptions. Registering with Fairhill is super easy and you can be directed to the digital registration form via the Kingston website. Once you’re registered you’re able to book appointments easily should you need to in your time at Kingston! If your term time adress isn’t in the boundaries to be registered with Fairhill then don’t worry. The NHS choices website allows you to see what GP services are nearest to you and which ones you’re in the boundary for. Obviously, you always hope that you won’t need to see the GP whilst at uni but it’s super important to register to one just in case! If you have any questions feel free to comment! -Yasmin (Kingston Rep)
