access to higher education

does anybody have experience with online providers to access to HE courses? i’m interested in starting a law or something similar (humanities, social science etc.) course preferably online, however I am not sure how to find the best places where it doesn’t cost thousands for the same course

by the way i have checked with local colleges but they don’t offer the courses i am interested in.

Hi Hristyana04,

I have also been looking for that same course online, have found a few websites, it depends when you want to start, if you dont mind starting in September 2025, there is an online live classes course at citylit: https://www.citylit.ac.uk/courses/access-to-he-diploma-humanities-and-social-science-evenings

And if you want to start asap like me, there is www.accesscoursesonline.com, which is the cheapest amongst all of them. There is also DistanceLearningCentre, as well as LearnDirect and OpenStudyCollege. Bear in mind that some of them do have entry requirements, whereas www.accesscoursesonline.com and distancelearningcentre dont have any.

Also check with your university that you’re applying for what entry requirements it has.

Best of luck!

I'm currently doing an online access course and so far it hasnt been bad apart from the fact that you're completely isolated and it can take days even weeks for someone to get back to you over a small message and sometimes it takes a month for a tutor to mark you're assignments. I'm still in the process of finishing mine only thing I've found to counteract slow marking is by finishing coursework a week or 2 before it's due
