University Photography

I would like to study photography at Lincoln, however at the open day I went to the film production subject talk as that is what I was initially interested in and I am now no longer available to make it to any of the other open days so I don't have a chance to talk to any one properly about what the course in holds.
If anyone does photography at Lincoln please can you let me now how it goes, do you recommend bringing your own equipment, how much creative freedom is there etc.
And anyone who does photography and enjoys it but at another university please let me know about that as well to keep my options open.
