The Student Room Group

University of Birmingham or Birmingham City University (UOB OR BCU)

I don't know if I should go to UOB or BCU for mental health nursing. Ice hears BCU is better because they have been doing the course for a while but I also heard that they are under investigation for not teaching the course properly. I've been to BCU's open day and I liked the campus but idk 😭😭 HELPPP
As a UOB student. I would say UOB. The teaching is much better and some would say it doesn't matter which uni you go to, but I would say having UOB as your university opens up more opportunities due to the Russell Group status. I hope this helps!

Thankyou so much
Hi @Mekyy

Similar to most health courses provided by BCU, mental health nursing has been offered for many years, which has allowed to refine and develop the program. The course is well-established and benefits from experienced faculty and strong industry connections. From a social aspect, BCU is located in the centre of Birmingham, meaning there are more places and activities for leisure in your free time.
