Hi Calum thank you for your response.

I applied for MAX maintenance loan, since I was in Foster care from 2008-2022. I provided evidence of this from the local authority who looked after me, as well as proof that I’m a care leaver and that my parents have not been and will never give me any support etc. because I’m under a long residency category is it likely I will be eligible for MAX maintenance loan or does it not apply for long residency applicants and I can only get minimum ?

If student finance England have confirmed I’m eligible but not yet approved my application is there a chance it may not get approved still ?

I called and the operators told me iam eligible but some evidence has to be manually approved, but that I’m eligible, to be honest I’m also very confused and when I tried to ask how can I be eligible but my loan is not approved the operator on the phone replied with ‘I’m so confused’ could you please clear this up for me ?

Hi Lewania,

If you meet all the criteria to be eligible and provided all the evidence then you should be eligible but we would need to wait until an assessor checks your application and evidence and they will let you know if your eligible.

Hi there,

An assessor will need to review all your evidence before they can approve your application. If you spoke to someone they should not have said you are eligible if your evidence has not been processed. We can advise you on what evidence what to provide and can confirm this would be acceptable evidence.

Hi there,

They said that all the evidence they need I have submitted and they don’t need anything else from me as of right now it’s just being accessed. But is there a chance my application could be declined ?
