my year 10 academic comeback ‼️💗

my school started the gcse course in year 9, so we had mocks at the end of the year, and all I can say is that my grades were NAWT what I was hoping 😞. I understand it's still really early, but I want to do as well as possible in my exams (hoping for all 8s and 9s) and so, this year, I'm going to start putting more effort into my academics, and I guess this is just me journalling it!

last years mock results:
- AQA Sociology - 92% - grade 8 equiv
- AQA History - 50% - grade 5 equiv
- AQA Biology - 70% - grade 6+ equiv
- AQA Physics - 68% - grade 6+ equiv
- AQA Chemistry - 60% - grade 6 equiv
- AQA Religious - 79% - grade 6 equiv
- Edexcel French - 95% - grade 6 equiv
- Edexcel Eng Lang - ? - grade 6- equiv.
- Edexcel Eng Lit - 85% - grade 8+ equiv.
- Edexcel Maths - 75% - grade 7 equiv

I have mocks in March/April, so I'm going to begin revising for them soon, but I have other mini tests, and they're going well so far - i got my first ever History 'write an account' that was over 4/8, so I'm really happy.
I also got 11/12 on a Sociology 12 marker, 5/5 on a RS 5 marker, 70% in a physics test, 81 then 83% on two biology tests, and one mark off of full marks on a maths test (98%), and so I feel like the academic comeback is definitely possible!

I'll update after this week's tests which are
a History 8 marker
another History 8 marker
a chem test
a History 4 marker
two Sociology 4 markers

wish me luck 🤞 💗

Good luck also enjoy it while year 10 lasts ,year 11 isn't very fun and i realised that when i did my GCSE's last year, i would never want to live through gcse's period again, 20+ exams back to back to back is traumatising , And Good luck!

Main thing with chemistry is the content if you can get your head around the content then you will be getting the 9 no matter what, if you don't have it already suggest getting, the cgp book attached, it really good for content and it simplies everythign down and it is interesting to read, and for science in general it is about exam questions(past paper) do AS MANY AS you possibly can it is so good if you do exam question you will know exactly what each question is looking for there is not point revising if you don't know how to apply this to an exam question, and you will know exactly what answer to questions are so you won't need to talk about unnecessary content and waste time i did so much exam question practice i normally had 45 mins of time to check through my gcse chemistry papers, and there is ONLY SO MANY QUESTIONS they can ever ask you the questions repeat every year in different wordings. Also this website is really good it has pre made flash cards for each topic for each science and lots of exam questions and things. https://www.physicsandmathstutor.com/ its funny because i am currently using this website rn for my a level chemistry work. Anything else feel free to ask! have a great rest of the day !

A 9 in English is so good! The highest I've ever gotten in English was a 7 once because all this analysis stuff is so difficult 😨
