Opinions on finding work as a student?

Opinions on finding work as a student?

Hi everyone!

I'm doing a project on finding a solution to students not being able to find part time jobs between their studies and since many places frown upon hiring students.

Does anyone have any strong opinions on finding work as a student??

Is it hard? Have you ever been turned down? How much do you survive on a week? Are you looking for repetitive jobs or just an odd job to earn the cash? Are you trying to earn money for necessities or is it for random things you want?

(This might be more relevant to people in the UK but other countries feel free to answer too!!!)

Anything helps really!

I've applied to at least 7 jobs, maybe nearing ten, and no luck. Either they don't get back to me or the role suddenly "doesn't exist". I've had a part-time job before, only for about 4 months before having to quit due to A-level exams. It's frustrating when they never get back to you. Also, as a student my hours are flexible during certain times but most companies don't seem to like that obviously.
