Personal statement character count

Does it matter if you only have 3,200 characters in your statement?
A UCAS personal statement is a maximum of 4000 characters , so 3,200 would be fine. You might wat to take a look at the following link for tips on this - JD

Thanks. My son submitted his statement to ucas last night and paid the fee but his college haven’t seen it yet and haven’t submitted his academic reference yet. Is this ok? Can the college still add his academic reference? Can they help him amend the personal statement if they don’t think it’s good enough? I am very worried!!

It's a common misconception that "Pay & Send" sends it to UCAS. It doesn't.
At this moment in time, your son's application is currently sitting with his college. They will add his academic reference and predicted grades.

If they don't think the PS is good enough, they can send it back to him so he can sort it out, although I would advise that he should have had it checked before he sent it off to avoid a 'back and forth'.

Please don't be too worried.

Edit: Please also note that I've moved your thread into our Personal Statement Forum.
