How to fund studying for Pre Reg Radiotherapy

I want to study Radiotherapy as a pre reg course in Scotland, however student funding is only £300 per month as it is a two year course. I am a mature student. I cannot live off this money each month. I have also been told it is a 5 day week in class so working is not an option. Is there any alternative funding available?

I can possibly get a bursary too. But this would still be collectively under £400. I'm panicking so much as to how I am expected to afford to live and pay my rent and for my car with such limited funding.

Can pre reg Radiotherapy students do bank shifts?

Are there any graduates of this course who can provide financial advice?

Do you get your finance from SAAS or elsewhere? Is this your first or second degree?

I did an undergraduate in Zoology, so I believe this is considered a postgraduate programme as the entry requirements was to have an undergrad degree.

With SFE, pre-reg AHP courses qualify for undergrad funding so get both tuition fee and maintenance loans (not the regular postgrad loan). However, if you get your funding from SAAS, then different rules apply:

Are you able to study in England? If so, you could be eligible for the annual training grant from the NHS Learning Support Fund:

Unfortunately not. There are a load of rules around ionising radiation, and one of them is that radiation can only be delivered by qualified & registered radiographers.

What I have seen is where we've had people working in support worker roles as Band 3/4's before starting as a radiotherapy student, is that they will work bank shifts in their old role.
