Applying for higher education nursing and midwifery next year

My first year of college I did level 2 health and social care because I didn’t pass my maths and English gcse. So I had to do functional skills level 1 maths cause I got a grade 2 and I did English GCSE cause I got a grade 3 unfortunately this year I didn’t pass my English gcse so I have to resit again this year but i passed my functional skills maths. I wasn’t allowed to be put on level 3 this year instead my college wanted me to repeat the same course and focus on both of my maths and English gcse this year. I’ve decided if I pass both of my maths and English this year I would like to do access to he nursing and midwifery to go university to do child nursing but if am allowed because I am only 17 turning 18 in January 2025 I would like to do access next year September but the problem is that I will be 18 at the time but acess is +19 idk what I should do

If you pass your GCSE English next summer then why not apply for university for nursing in 2025 instead of the access course providing you have all the necessary entry requirements for the university you have chosen to do your nursing at.

There's no harm in trying before you have to try and get a place on the access nursing course.
Just a thought for you to think about.

People at 17/18 are getting into nursing degree courses straight from school so you should consider doing the same and if unsuccessful then apply for the access nursing course before heading to university to do your student children nursing course.
