About to apply for HSPS and torn between St John's and Selwyn. I slightly prefer Selwyn to St. John's however the fact that I would be eligible for St. John's top up bursary and free place scheme is swaying me more towards them. The only thing holding me back is that Selwyn takes 83% state school students whereas St. John's only took 68% last year. Should I ignore statistics and go for St. John's or play it safer with Selwyn?

I'd check that John's intends to offer that for 2025 entry, they might not.

That's a good point, thank you! Why wouldn't they?

Funding can vary and they often caveat these with it's for X year entry, not guaranteeing for future students starting in other years if further donations don't come through.

I understand, thanks for letting me know! Think I'll go for Selwyn after all
