Send it through via private message on here.

I have tried messaging you privately, however I keep getting an error message saying my message was flagged as spam unfortunately! Is there any other way I could send you my personal statement?

For anyone with a sharp eye for detail they've changed the updates pay to say applications will open in January rather than early/mid January. Looks like it could be a bit later than usual this year. https://nshcs.hee.nhs.uk/programmes/stp/applicants/

Is anyone applying for genomic counselling? How are you guys feeling about it?

Hi I’m applying to genomics counselling, it will my first time applying and I’m graduating from biochemistry this year. I’m a little nervous as loads people have gone and done PhDs and still haven’t gotten in. Also does anyone now when the application will open because it says mid January, but it’s mid January now and the making your STP application is saying the content has been removed

Same here, graduating Biomed applying for Clinical Bioinformatics Genomics. I've heard stories of people with PhDs still unsuccessful on their fifth go round, but also people who've managed to ace it on their first try straight from undergrad. From what I can gather, as long as you can relate what you've already done to what they're looking for, you're giving it your best shot. There's not really a pattern between level of education and success, so there's every change you could still get in.

To answer your other question, OP noted the website has changed from mid-January to just January now. Probably just taking them a little longer with finalising and admin. Best of luck!

Hi, have you used this website before for practice? If so how helpful was it? And do you think it is worth it?

Don't focus on the PhDs, focus on you. How do you match the core specification and make sure your application showcases that (assuming the application is the same as the last few years).

Hi! How did you prepare for the STJ?

Hi! I used the sample SJT questions provided by Pearson to get an idea of how the questions would be presented. I also used ChatGPT to make practice questions too and also looked at SJT questions that I had in a book when I was prepping for the UKAT previously. Even though some of the questions I looked at weren't really relevant I tried to think about how I would apply them to a scenario as a scientist. Hope this helps 🙂

Just wanted to wish you the best of luck. I finished my STP a year ago, I'm a Senior Bioinformatician and I love my job a lot!

Hi Guys, After a lucky search on google about the dates for the STP, I found the deadline dates. It looks like applications will open on 11am on Thursday 23 January 2025 and closes on 4pm on Thursday 6 February 2025.
Here is the link from the NHSCS Website.

how similar/different is the STP SJT to that in the UCAT exam. just want to know how to tailor my revision, and if I can apply the same principles as I did when I sat my UCAT this year

If you haven't seen the Pearson practice questions for the SJT I would recommend checking them out (https://www.pearsonvue.com/us/en/nshcs.html). I did find with the UCAT questions there were scenarios that would not be relevant at all to the role of a scientist. But I did feel that general scenarios could be applied e.g. having difficulties with a colleague or being made to do something you had no experience with. I would say you can apply similar principles as you did in the UCAT and I found practicing the SJT UCAT questions did help me as there are very limited resources out there to practice SJT questions for the STP

Anyone know if they have published a map of the locations and number of posts per specialism/discipline?
It was published last year together with the application dates. This year they seem a bit indecisive about dates and stuff so idk
