Psychology question

Is it true we could bite off our own finger if we wanted to but our brain stops us?
You can still overcome your brain lol, you just don't want to because you know it'll hurt and you're protecting yourself.

You're not suppose to chew you're suppose to bite it like a carrot. Also if you want to overcome your brain it has to be an instantaneous action, like, a really fast bite. Also you don't ACTUALLY want to bite off your finger, which is why it's not working. You may think you do but you don't. The only case I can think of where you actually would want to do that is if you're starving and a cannibal with no other options.

P.S you still wouldn't be able to bite it off bc of the bone

Why do you want to bite off your finger is the real question?
