Nursing at Anglia Ruskin

I’m in the middle of applications and distance wise, Anglia Ruskin is one of my top choices. Does anyone have graduated or in the middle of an adult course? How are the placements and teaching styles?

Hi!

I study at ARU and do childrens nursing, in which a lot of our big lectures are with the adult nurses.

The course is 50% theory and 50% placement, you usually do three placements a year with the theory mixed inbetween these. For the theory time, there is a mix of small class', big lectures and also online class'. The placements are really good, you get put in an array of different settings and get to develop a lot of knowledge and skills about multiple different things. The theory can be full on sometimes, there is a lot of it and you will be expected to do theory alongside placement. For example, I am currently on placement and have an essay due while I am on this placement. Once you have started, you will be able to develop skills on balancing placement, theory and having a social life, it just takes a little time and some scheduling!

I chose to live at home but i have friends who have stayed on campus so I visit the town regularly, I attend chelmsford ARU but I also visit Cambridge sometimes due to having family there. Both cities are lovely places with lots of shops, food and (if you like the freshers life) places to go out!

Best of luck!
