Univeristy of Bristol application - biology

Hi I’m in year 13 and applying for Biology BSc at the University of Bristol. They require AAA but I am only predicted AAB (A* in EPQ but they don’t consider it). This is the only place I’m applying requiring grades higher than my predicted but it’s also my top choice, is there any chance they will give me an offer?

I imagine it's possible. If your predicted grades meet the standard requirements for your other four choices, I can't see any harm in going for one "more ambitious" choice.

Yes - straight Biology isn't mega-competitive so its definitely worth applying.

I think absolutely a chance, only if you put it as your firm though! They normally have a 1 grade allowance type thing for some courses as long as it's your top choice. (I did UCAS last year and found that). Wish you the best of luck!

Nice job. What was your predicted grade based on mostly ? Just curious if it was as levels as I am in that position ?

My test results throughout yr12, was one mark of an A in my end of years (I guess they were like the as tests) and that was mainly used but they did also consider my past tests. My school were really stubborn and wouldn’t predict me the A even though I was a mark off and had done well throughout the year, they only moved my grade up to an A once I achieved an A in my next test and begged them - so ridiculous when my friends at other schools got Cs in their end of yr12 exams but got predicted A*s! Really just depends on your school but work really hard in year 12 just incase your school is stubborn like mine! good luck!
