A-level yr 12 homework

Guys how much homework are you getting? For context I take 4 alevels (2of which are maths and FM).
I just started year 12 and am getting a TON of homework. I have around 3-4 lessons on a school day and pretty much every lesson I get a piece of homework or sometimes 2.

I am currently doing 5 A-Levels including FM (dropping one or two around December) and I have 20 hours of lesson time a week and 2 hours of private study. I approximately have another 20 hours of homework and revision per week. Y12 too. Varies by teacher though.

I'm doing 4 A-levels, and 5 is just straight up hell. Only 1 person is doing 5 in our yr12, and a bunch of extra curricular activities at the same time. But you do you I guess. :pizza:

Art: ongoing course work which I guess could be either forever homework or no homework (I do a lot in my frees at school)
Physics: not a lot of homework at all and if I do get it, it only takes like 10 minutes (however this is partly because we’re a small class of 3 who all got grade 9s in gcse physics so certain things we don’t need to go through and we get things done quickly so we do it in the lesson or often don’t get assigned hw at all)
Maths: I get a LOT of homework. I get more in stats and mechanics than from the pure maths lessons however both of them give us a lot. Or rather, work that takes a long time rather than a large number of questions.

I’m just hoping it’s going to die down a bit… I’m already annoyed that I’ve not got as much time to makes notes etc as I would like!

Hello Starlettt. Can we have a chat on how we can work together?

For my school we get 5 hours of homework per subject per week. But sometimes this includes revision.
For maths, I don't get any homework, but if we want to achieve A* its on our hand by putting in the work yourself and working at your own pace. For chemistry we get homework set mainly on Tuesday and due 1 week after but still do my own work for Chem as well. For computer science, barely any homework and again I don't wait for the teachers, I go ahead.

Yeah it’s pretty difficult but will hopefully get easier at some point

Yes? I’m not sure how easy it will be to work together online but I won’t say no to that… I enjoy helping others if I can and it would certainly help me understand things more anyways. What subjects are you doing? I’m in year 12 btw

I'm doing 4 A-levels as well, and the homework can really stack up, especially since every lesson usually comes with a new assignment. I typically have 3 to 4 lessons a day, which means I end up with quite a bit of work. To manage it, I prioritise tasks based on deadlines and break them down into smaller, more manageable parts. That way, I don’t feel too overwhelmed, and it helps me stay organised. You could try setting aside dedicated study time each day to steadily work through everything—it really makes a difference in the long run." If you need help just ask

Thanks for the help! Just wondering if you go to college or sixth form? I heard people say sixth form tends to be more work….

I’m still deciding between college and sixth form. I’ve heard that sixth form can be a bit more intense, but I guess it depends on where you go

Oh so you aren’t in year 12 😂. Fair enough, just choose what’s right for you
