i dont know what to do..

as of writing this, the ucas deadline for early entry is 4 days away. having taken a lot of thought, i still don't know what course to choose.. with some context, i do maths, chemistry and computer science a level. i am predicted 3 A*s and got all 9's at gcse (but a 7 in biology)..
currently, i have written a personal statement for dentistry, as it is one of the courses i can see myself sort of doing, but i'm scared i am not going to enjoy it.. for example, i was doing biology a-level at the start of the year 12 but dropped it for computer science because i did not find it engaging. because i don't do biology alevel, i can only apply to 3 dental schools (of standard duration) and 2 requiring prelim year. moreover, i also sat the ucat last minute and managed to scrape an average score.

on the other hand, i have always wanted to study at prestigious uni like oxbridge.. i am still considering choosing chemistry at oxford or imperial, but i'm not confident with this option as employment is not as secure as dentistry, and i feel i might just infatuated by the idea of studying at a top uni. for sure, i enjoy chemistry much more than i do biology.

if you don't think i should pursue dentistry as i was not interested in biology a level do you think it is worth the time? i don't wanna dedicate myself to a course i will not enjoy.

anyone studying dentistry or anyone with some insight, if you see this, please send some advice..

First of all, don't be hard on yourself. Many people do not know what to do. In life, most things are trial and error.

Based on your comments, I would suggest that you study Natural Sciences. This would give you a broad base that you can use to progress through to other courses in the medical field, if needed. Also, Cambridge offers the course.

To explore other options, you can have a look at the course explorer here: https://www.theuniguide.co.uk/a-level-explorer

It gives many suggestions based on your current subjects. Good luck

thank you for reply!.. i did previously look at the natural science course, but due to the combination of my a-levels, i had limited options.. thats why i was looking more towards chemistry at oxford or imperial.. im working on my ucas choices currently, and it doesn't look too good, out of the 5 dental schools i can apply to, they have high ucat thresholds.. for reference, the schools i can apply to are.. kcl, queen marys, bristol and (for prelim year) manchester + leeds.
In terms of chemistry at Oxford you are definitely just as attractive for employers, many graduates go into software engineering, PHD study, patent law, consultancy, quality assurance, teaching, finance, accounting, they have an excellent careers service and even aside from Oxford as a name a chem degree is very versatile and transferrable. If you don’t enjoy biology at a level I can guarantee at uni especially for dentistry it will only get worse, you will find a job doing either way so long as you are good at what you do/ have studied
Not what you wanna hear I know but you can always go into postgrad dent also if you end up feeling chemistry hadn’t worked out the way you wanted

Hi . As someone in a decently similar position to you (I changed my course like a few weeks before the Oxbridge deadline from biomed eng to math) it’s probably fine to be kinda “lost” . One thing I was advised is you shouldn’t worry about like Oxbridge deadline/applying if u not actually interest or passionate about your subject because even if you have top grades, admissions tutors are experts on those subjects, and will be able to tell if you aren’t passionate which is who they are looking for. Not to say u won’t have passion in the future but they want evidence of it which is shown in like super curricular which you man not have as much because of “later” found passion.
