Is anybody still looking for accommodation or for the next term?
Is anybody looking for accommodation currently or for the next term? I'm planning on withdrawing from the uni and I can re-let my room in Straits Meadow. I paid the full amount in one go so I need to find a replacement. The room is a Club Studio and it's 250 ppw. Tenancy expires in 31 Aug 2025. Please let me know if you're interested.

I wonder did you withdraw from your accommodation? if so, did they repay you?

I think with most student accommodations like Straits Meadow, they usually won’t refund you unless you find someone to take over the tenancy. It really depends on the contract, but from what I’ve seen, once you’ve paid in full, you’re still responsible unless a replacement is found. Always worth checking with the accommodation team directly, though, just in case there’s some flexibility.

I have received an accommodation offer with a deadline to accept within 3 days. However, I have applied for a scholarship programme and the outcome has not yet been announced. If I accept the accommodation offer now, but later find out that I did not receive the scholarship I will unfortunately not be able to continue with the master's programme or move into the accommodation. In such a case, if the 7-day cooling-off period has already passed, would I still be liable to pay the accommodation fees, even though I would not have moved in or used the room?
