put on hold by bristol (economics and politics bsc)?

bristol have sent me an email saying that theyve put me on hold - does this put me at a disadvantage? I've already seen that bristol have given out offers for philosophy, languages, english etc.

Bristol have a web page that describes what being "on hold" means:
https://www.bristol.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/after-you-apply/your-application/decision/

Bear in mind that Bristol have to give equal consideration to everyone who applies before the Ucas deadline at 18:00 on 29th January 2025, and that's over three months away.
depends on the course definitely, i know people that have applied for some courses at bristol and have received offers, but others who have also been put on hold! i wouldn't worry, they're most likely doing it so they can consider other applicants

I got put on hold for Econ as well today. Hopefully will be fine. Do you guys know if it means you’re likely to get an alternative offer for smth else?

I’m on Scottish system but my predicted grades are AAA (they can’t predict bands for Scottish students so this is the best we got). My achieved higher grades (like AS) are 5A1=5A*
I've just got put on hold at Bristol for philosophy and politics on A*A*A* predictions, i know they say that being put on hold isn't a bad thing but it feels like it, will they wait until all applications have been sent in January or is there a chance i get an offer before then? i just really want an offer haha

If they were gonna make you wait till then I reckon they’d say it. That said, they could make you wait till march but I’ve also seen people who get put on hold get an offer 4 days later. So any moment from now ig

really depends on course! i know people who applied for law, so obvs not econ and pol, who got put on hold by bristol and got an offer in like jan/feb, some later. i’m applying for law and really want to go to bristol so crossing my fingers 🤞🏻 - but def depends on course, you might get one this week or next week or later  i hope i get put on hold tbh, might mean i didn’t flop my admissions test 😇
