LNAT Score

I just gave my LNAT today and seem to be pretty confused about how it went, people with good scores/offers, did you feel rushed towards the end of the exam and blind-picked the last few? Or what was your expected/received result

I also did mine today and honestly I felt quite dazed coming out of the exam. I think my MCQ section (for once) actually went pretty decently but the essay was a bit of a blur. I know it was good enough but the topic I chose was hard and controversial and I used an entirely new structure because of it. I didn’t run out of time on the MCQ but I did on the essay (thankfully reduced my words to 747 but that’s still a lot), so not a feeling of being rushed per say, but more so a mixture of confusion, relief and exhaustion. I would try not to worry about scores as you won’t get those till February anyway. If you’re applying to Oxbridge, you have a slight advantage as you can gauge an idea of how well you performed based on the outcome of your application. If you get an offer, you probably (but not necessarily) did fairly well on both sections (more so the essay section for Oxford) and if you get rejected, it should show you the specific reason for your rejection on UCAS (i.e. LNAT performance). Because this is given to you in January, you can make estimates based on this information. Which LNAT universities have you/are you applying for?

I've applied to Oxford, UCL, KCL, Durham and Bristol, I know I cannot know my results but its just so scary to think I could have messed up.

Right? Its so difficult to gauge an idea of your score, and they're evil for taking so long with giving us the scores

Yeah honestly dont overthink it- i had my heart set on oxford but now bc of the LNAT im not too sure what will happen- but ive already accepted that not getting in is not the end of the world, and i could always reapply if i really wanted to. Stay positive, and weigh up the options when they are presented to you.

The LNAT is single-handedly the worst thing ive ever done in my life- i was ill for MONTHS just thinking about it. So, i think its an accomplished having just sat the paper ☺️ The result of that exam wont define you ever, so dont worry too much.

5 LNAT universities is definitely a bold choice, but I would try not to overthink it for now. You don’t know how your score will compare on a national scale and you don’t know what each university will be looking for in an application. If you think you’re essay section was stronger than you may have better luck with Oxford and UCL, but if you’re MCQ section ends up being the stronger one, you could be in luck for KCL (I can’t speak for Durham and Bristol have a pretty marginal gap in terms of section weighting). The worst they can say is no and even then, UCAS extra, clearing and a gap year are all still options readily available to you. You’ve done it now which is the most important thing and you should be proud of yourself for being able to get through it! At the end of the day, it’s an aptitude test meaning it will challenge you because it’s designed to be hard.
i felt SO dazed coming out of my exam, like so freaked out i almost left through the entrance instead of the exit because my brain wasn't processing words it was so weird
that being said, you can't ever tell how you've done with the mcq bc it's so unreliable - honestly just in the hands of your unis now to decide, you can't do anything else! but you're not alone in rushing the last few, i did too hahah
