Hello! 🙂 @Inara_
It's great you're considering applying to study Law!

Firstly, what kind of university would you like to study at, campus or city based?
Is there a specific aspect of Law you enjoy and you'd really like to cover during your course?

UEA is a campus based university in the city of Norwich. Norwich is a small but vibrant city with many independent shops and cafes, plus the surrounding towns/villages in UEA are definitly worth exploring with friends! For example, the beaches and the Broads just to name a few.
UEA itself has beautiful green spaces by the lake (great for summer weather!) and it's Law school is very well respected. It has been ranked 55th internationally by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings!
Here is a link to the Law Course at UEA.

I would really recommend attending Open Days at universities you're interested in because it gives you the opportunity to speak to the professors who will be teaching you, to speak to current students on the Law course and to see the campus itself.
If you're interested, UEA has upcoming open days on the 26th of October and 23rd of November. You can book your place here and even get free train ticket if you're travelling from far!

If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
I hope this helps 🙂

Hi,

If you’re looking for good law universities outside the Russell Group, here are three strong options worth considering:

1.

University of Law (ULaw): Specializing in legal education, ULaw is known for its strong links to the legal profession and focus on employability. With multiple campuses across the UK, ULaw offers flexibility in location and provides excellent practical experience through its pro bono programs and strong career services. If you’re looking for a university that prioritises your career from day one, ULaw is a great choice.

2.

City, University of London: City’s Law School is well-known for its focus on professional development, especially for those interested in commercial law or pursuing the Bar. Its central London location gives you easy access to networking opportunities, internships, and top law firms. The fast-paced environment and proximity to the legal hub are great for career development.

3.

University of Leicester: Leicester’s Law School consistently ranks highly for teaching quality and employability. The university has a supportive and diverse student community with plenty of opportunities for practical experience through law clinics and mooting. Leicester is also a more affordable and relaxed city compared to London, which is great for student life.

All three universities have their own strengths, so it depends on whether you prefer the vibrant legal scene of London or a more laid-back and affordable city like Leicester!

I hope this helps, all the best!

Is Royal Holloway one of the ulaw’s university. I have shortlisted Lancaster, Royal Holloway, and Surrey, but I want to make sure I pick the best out of all the options.

Hi there,

It's great to hear you're considering studying Law at Royal Holloway. In answer to your question, we are not part of the University of Law, however we are a member of the wider University of London federation.

We are based in Egham, Surrey, just 40 mins outside of Central London by train. Our campus is one of the most beautiful in the world with numerous teaching and study spaces, bars and cafés, high-quality accommodation, and sports facilities. All this is set in 135 acres of stunning parkland.

If you have any questions about Law at Royal Holloway, you can chat to a current Law student, Lance, here. You also may wish to come along to our next Open Day on 23 November or sign up to our Online Open Day on Wednesday 30 October to find out more about us.

Best wishes
Royal Holloway, University of London
