Worth applying to Cambridge? Very good predicted A levels and AS levels. Low UCAT.

I got a 2530 B3 on the UCAT.
Had only 6 subjects at IGCSE- A*A*A*A*A*A
AS levels- AAA (Bio, Chem, phy)
A levels predicted- A* A* A* (Bio, Chem, physics) and A for AS level English
Read a few research papers and books like “This is going to hurt” by Adam Kay and a few others by Atul gawande.
Headboy of the school.
President of the school community service club
Volunteered at an old age home
Taught 3 underprivileged kids to read, write and count.
Observed at a local clinic.

Isn’t the UCAT score too low? And more importantly even though I got almost all A*s at IGCSE, I didn’t know that taking more subjects is important so I only took 6. This has put me at such a massive disadvantage at unis like Cardiff and Belfast so do you think it would be a disadvantage at Cambridge too?

Your grades are demonstrably close to perfect. Presumably you only took 6 IGCSEs because either your school didn't allow you to do more, or you transferred school systems, not because you were just to think to do more, in which case that's perfectly acceptable.

Your UCAT is what it is. You either choose to take a risk or you play safe - but that's why you are allowed more than one choice on the UCAS form, so you can apply to a long shot, a back up and two/three likelys.

Right, makes sense. And yeah I truly have been at the top of my class in every grade. So I’m applying to Aberdeen, Brunel and Cambridge and one more I have to decide still. Do you think Plymouth will be good? The international cut off for ucat in 2023 was around 2440ish but in 2024 it went up to 2600ish so not sure if it’s worth applying to this year. Any other suggestion as per my stats. Thanks a lot!🥂

Hey, I was in a pretty similar situation to you a couple months ago with 2760 B1 but I chose not to apply to Cambridge Med because I got too scared about getting rejected because of my UCAT. Did you end up getting an offer?

Hahaha, I didn’t apply either. I applied to Brunel, aderdeen, Dundee and sunderland. Got an offer from Brunel and gave the interview for Dundee a few days back, let’s see how that goes. Aberdeen rejected and Sunderland wasn’t accepting international applicants so got rejected straight away. Should’ve checked their website more thoroughly but it’s fine. But yeah now I do think that I should’ve just applied to Cambridge instead of being scared of rejection and applying to Sunderland, was a shot in the dark but could’ve been worth it lol, “fortis fortuna adiuvat”- fortune favours the bold😂

I don't know if this helps but i applied with 2780 B2 (non-contextual) and got rejected pre-interview
