Missed a month of year 10

I’m a year 10 student, however I have missed all of the school year up until now and probably will miss more until, I don’t even know when, but hopefully at most until half term. This is because I moved house and it’s taken a while for me to get a place. Since I’m joining so late, how far behind do you think I will be? I am mainly worried about my gcse choices, that since I joined so late I might not get the ones I want. Also, when does year 10 start becoming serious? Like is it around next year summer when there is mocks season? Thanks

You can easily catch up on your subjects if its only a month, but year 10 is when they usually start gcse content and it will be important, so you cant be behind as it will be quick. For me, year 10 I was concentrating and making notes in lessons, but I wouldn't spend hours revising after school. I started revising only before and during my year 10 mocks. (and abit during the summer) When you really need to start revising is in year 11 as you will have mocks in the winter and your actual gcses in may.
