Biological Natural Sciences at Cambridge

Oxbridge deadline is a few days away and I have my ESAT exam on the same day so I’m alr quite stressed 😭. Going 1 grade above my mocks and my grade average throughout yr12, my predicted were meant to be 3A*s in bio chem and maths however my maths teacher decided to predict me a B 😭. I spoke to my Head of year, and he was willing to put it up to an A, just not an A*.
I was quite disheartened as I’ve been getting 100% on so many of my end of topic tests so not rlly sure where it came from. Is it still worth applying with A*A*A predicted? It meets the entry requirements but I’m know so many other people with have 3-4 A* predicted and I fear I won’t be at a disadvantage. Il Also applying for Biomed at Manchester which would be my backup option but I’m not rlly sure if I want to go there as I enjoy the course structure of Cambridge
A*A*A is not bad. This is somehow the typical offer requirements. You also have the interview and ESAT to make up. Btw, fellow Cambridge Biological NatSci applicant haha 😂 I just applied to Emmanuel College and I am also stressed about the ESAT too…🥲 Wish us luck!

omg, I'm applying to emmanuel for bio natsci too! I'm glad I'm not the only one terrified for the ESAT 😭
Oh hey there! Same like I don’t know how the Cambridge application works…I have heard that the ESAT is very important yet some Cambridge students say that they screwed up but still got an offer…so I’m really not sure…I hope completing all NSAA Past Papers is enough tho…Hope the three of us make it!!
From family experience - the ESAT is likely to be a huge factor. Being contextual or international can also help you in getting an interview. Our experience was of the NSAA in recent years - you just gave to do as well as possible in these admissions tests. I wouldn't worry about the predictions - A*A*A should be fine. Good luck all

Im applying to fitz for vetmed this time round. ESAT is so awful, and it feels rubbish to get like 50% on the NSAA papers. But if you google 'NSAA scores 2018-22' itll definitely make you feel better because the average scores of offer holders are a lot lower than you think!

Thank you 😭 I’ve just finished, bio was okay, chem I can’t rlly tell but I think maths was atrocious. Judging by the complaints of other people after the exam I think it went bad for quite a few so I wouldn’t stress tm. The guy behind me sounded like he was going THROUGH it though 😭

Yes omg I’m so happy people agree maths was so bad. I don’t even know what it was? Were the questions harder? Was it the timing? I just kept getting answers that weren’t even options lol 😭

That would be quite interesting to compare it to actual results when they come out. (If they publish the stats) My scores could vary so much, but I'm guessing maths 18, bio 23, chem 20
