American vs. UK spelling in UCAS personal statement

I am an American student looking to apply to Oxford for 2025. I am currently editing my personal statement and getting ready to submit my application. However, I have a silly question regarding spelling: should I go with the American spelling of words, the UK spelling, or a mix? I don't know if using the American version would be jarring, or if the UK spelling would seem fake. In my normal life, I usually use a mix of the two (e.g. color, favor, grey, theatre) but I do not know if this would seem sloppy as well.

Since you're applying for a UK university, it is preferable to use UK English, and use it all throughout the document for consistency. Best of luck!
