Dental therapy and hygiene entry requirements

I am currently a dental nurse trainee and will be getting my qualification in march, i wanted to continue my studies in uni on the dental therapy and hygiene course but i did not do a level biology, most universities now require an A- level biology or an access course, i would like some guidance on how to go about pursuing my enrolment into uni after gaining my dental nursing qualification

The Access to HE diploma is probably the best route to take given than it can be completed in a year. A levels can become expensive, especially for sciences when you take the practicals element.

It depends on which universities you want to attend. For example Plymouth has changed its requirements, and an Access to HE course is no longer enough; you will also need A-level Biology. I would bear that in mind when making your decision. It would be best to contact the universities to gather as much information as you need to make an informed decision.

It still says on Plymouth's website that they accept Access. Some of the credits in the Access course need to be in biology but the A level isn't required:

Access to Higher Education Diploma

Pass an Access to Higher Education Diploma in a predominantly science subject area, meeting the following criteria:
60 credits overall to include 45 level 3 credits, of which 15 level 3 credits must be in Biology or Human Biology
You must achieve Merit or Distinction in 33 level 3 credits, including the 15 credits in Biology or Human Biology
