my best tip would be to start early and revise in moderation, i truly regret not doing this and having to cram so bad in the last few weeks. start revising now! In terms of notes, it was different for each subject, for lit i made flahcards for each quote and mindmaps for themes, for history i used blurting. find what methods work best for u, but make sure u use active recall - so dont just read over ur notes, but try and recall them from memory, my favourite way of doing this was to get my friends to test me. Also, try teaching content to others (like siblings), it might sound weird, but i promise it works, if ur able to explain something well to someone else, then ull be able to explain it well in the exam, and understanding is more important than memorising. Another tip that helped me was to make myself believe that i enjoyed a topic that i hated, and revise it so much until it becomes my favourite topic (this was especially helpful with revising poems i hated in lit). Finally i cant stress enough the importance of practice papers! Do EVERY past paper because i guarantee u that questions in ur exam will have come up in a previous paper, maybe just worded differently. I was able to do my maths gcse in yr 9 cos i was so prepared for any question cos i had done all the new spec papers over and over until i got full marks.

sorry for the essay but hope this helps & good luck!

tips of Spanish listening and speaking GCSE?

to begin with, listening and speaking were my weakest, but once i had learned enough vocab it became easy. i recommend u get the CGP vocab book, cos honestly the best way to practice for spanish is to learn vocab. use quizlet, its great for testing knowledge and get ur friends to test u on vocab - my favourite method of revision! 😄

for history, i used seneca cram mode in the last few weeks to quiz myself. it was probably the most effective method of revision for me. also try blurting - write down a theme e.g. lean years of Nazi party, then write down all the facts u can remember, then look through ur notes for anything u missed, and repeat this a few days later. also, ahve a look at model answers from like the exam board or ur teacher to see what u need exactly to get full marks.

Hope this helps!

my best advice would be to do as many past papers as possible, then get them marked and correct them, and them redo the questions u got wrong a few days later. also practice the topics u hate and find the hardest until ur bored to death by that topic and find it soo easy!
Best of luck for ur exams!!

for maths, i found it a bit harder than expected, especially the final questions like the octagon question (btw i did maths in 2023), but i think thats cos i was used to the post covid papers which were a lot easier. i havent done physics yet, im doing it this yr! cool profile pic btw!

Good luck to both of us! Likewise, I'm not an anime fan but I have a soft spot for Dragon Ball

Hi, those are amazing grades!

I'd love some advice for english lit (I do An inspector calls and a christmas carol) and any advice that helped you a lot.

Also I'd like to know any good resources or revision techniques you used for further maths as I'm starting the course after my mocks and just want to have an idea of it

Thank you

Firat of all congratulations 👏. I am also taking Arabic I am currently in year 10 might do my mock after Christmas holidays and I am really struggling like the words writing and all. How did you find the actual test compared to the mock or practice ones? Do you think you should have prepared more? What are some advice you would give yourself if you could back then? And for RE and English what advice would you give? Thank you.

Luckily i did the same texts for English lit, so i'll PM u some of my essays. First of all, i'd recommend u start making flashcards now (pick the 10-15 most judicious quotes), i'd also rllyy recommend watching Mr Salles, he is great for grade 9 ideas, and First Rate Tutors is good too. But the most beneficial thing for me tho was The Lightup hub. it costs like £8 a month or sm, but it honestly helped soo much ( i actually bought it the day before my paper 1 exam lol, and even then after using it for a few hours, it helped soo much!). there's also a ytb channel which is rlly good too! - The Lightup Hub channel. idk what poems ur doing ( i did power and conflict), but glow up your grades is great for poetry! Also, sm that worked for me was explaining/ analysing a quote to my younger brother/friend, cos it sticks in ur mind better if u explain it to someone.
For Further Maths id recomend Corbett Maths 5 a day Further Mtahs, and also, just like maths, do lots of practice questions and past papers!

Best of luck with ur exams! 😁

i prolly found arabic the hardest to revise for, but i think vocab is the most important thing u can do to prepare, id advise watching arabic series with subtitles, and also js constantly speak arabic at home/ to urself, maybe set a chanllenge to only speak arabic at home, if ur parents speak arabic thatll make it easier for u. ill admit i was quite unprepared for the speaking exam cos its a lot earlier than the rest, and my examiner was egyptian so she had a different accent to me which i found a bit harder to understand ( i think speaking is where i lost the most marks). for reading, watch the time ( i kinda ran out of time at the end), and make sure u answer the end questions in arabic, NOT ENGLISH! listening and writing were the easiest for me. some advice for listening is to write down everything u hear the first time like on the side or sm, and the second time they repeat it, make it into an answer, if that makes sense. i do wish i could have prepared more, but i spent so much time on my other exams, and so little time on arabic. if i could go back i would first of all tell myself all the answers 😆, then i would tell myself to prepare more for the speaking exam, cos it was the hardest, and i would go through past paper questions and prepare for whatever question might come up!
For RS, memorise quotes, generic ones like "love thy neighbour" are great, but make sure u have at least one or two quotes for every topic (idk what religions ur doing), but say u get a question about jihad in islam, u wanna make sure u have a quote for it! For english look at the previous post 👆️

Good luck & hope this helps!
